Video monitor ID

The monitor part number is on the back of the monitor. Reading it can be a problem. 

Video panel ID

The wiring type can be identified from the camera in the door panel. Check compatibility chart.

Video monitor part numbers

There are several wiring systems. It is important to choose the right monitor. Each monitor has a four digit code written on the label on the back of the mounting plate. The photo shows a 6256.

          DIGIT 1          Range number, 3 or 5 or 6 monitors

          DIGIT 2          Monitor style and screen size

          DIGIT 3          Wiring type    '5' = traditional video   '7' = 2200 systems,   '8' = 2300 systems

          DIGIT 4          Attributes, such as handsfree  

Reading the back of the monitor can be a problem. The wiring type can be identified from the amplifier module in the door panel. Check the back of your camera module fitted to the door panel. Check the compatibility chart to be sure the handset you choose is correct. The module shown above is 4832-1.
